Boinx Software Products:
iStopMotion at BETT 2005
BETT 2005 was a big event for Boinx iStopMotion. We were surprised by the professionalism of the show. Many exhibitors invested a lot of money to be present, so IT in education seems to be a boom business.
iStopMotion plays a center role at the "Create at BETT" booth. The ULTRALAB, a learning technology research centre at Anglia Polytechnic University, presented the project in cooperation with Apple and iStopMotion Reseller Solutions Inc.
The kids were using iStopMotion to capture a short movie which they then edited in iMovie. A professional sound studio and Garageband helped to produce the sound track for the movie. The kids took to the software real easily.
At the Apple booth, iStopMotion took the big stage. Oscar Stringer really captured the imagination of the audience with a top class performance.
The audience listened attentively. "Instant gratification" is the key to getting to the kids. Oscar demonstrated how quickly pupils can get results with iStopMotion. He then proceded to use iMovie to add a title and a soundtrack and export the movie to a mobile phone via Bluetooth.
The elephant is made from plasticine, the stage is a children's book.
iStopMotion at the Booth of reseller ICT-Links Ltd. Mark Boylan created a teachers guide to iStopMotion and a series of cool ani-mats with instructions on how to create your own animation models from plasticine.
We were surprised to find even more booths that featured iStopMotion. Here is the booth of Macs In My School where iStopMotion was used to take a time lapse of the visitors passing by.
